Asia Boating Awards held in Hong Kong honours the region’s best.
Marina at Keppel Bay was recognised as the “Best Asian Marina” on 8 May 2010 at the 6th Asia Boating Awards (formerly the Christofle Asia Boating Awards) held in Hong Kong. The award was achieved midst keen competition from Hong Kong, Thailand and Dubai.
The Asia Boating Awards is organised annually by Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating magazines and celebrates the best in the yachting and maritime scene.
This is the second time Marina at Keppel Bay has won one of the most coveted awards at the Asia Boating Awards. In its debut year in 2008, Marina at Keppel Bay won the title, “Best New Asian Marina/Yacht Club”. In the same year, just three months after its opening in January, it became the only Marina in Asia to be awarded the Clean Marina certification by the Marina Industries Association of Australia.
Receiving the award on behalf of Marina at Keppel Bay, Mr Trevor Fong, its General Manager said, “Our mission at Marina at Keppel Bay is to deliver the promise to be “Where Asia’s Best Live and Berth”. For us, this is not only about providing excellent facilities but more importantly, exemplary services without compromise on safety and security for homeowners and residents at Keppel Bay as well as our marina customers.
“We are a new Marina, just opened in 2008, but we have been fortunate to have learned and grown from valuable experiences and lessons gleaned from hosting international events as well from the strong network and relationships we have built.”
Marina at Keppel Bay, located at Keppel Bay in Singapore’s southern waterfront, features state-of-the-art concrete pontoons built by international marina experts, Bellingham Marine. When fully completed, the Marina will have capacity for 166 yachts including mega-yachts of up to 250 feet.
Keppel Bay, a world-class precinct featuring luxurious waterfront homes, is developed by Keppel Corporation Limited and its property arm, Keppel Land Limited.
The Marina complements Keppel Bay’s premier waterfront lifestyle offering. Owners of Keppel Bay’s luxurious homes, including the FIABCI award-winning Caribbean at Keppel Bay and iconic Reflections at Keppel Bay designed by master architect, Daniel Libeskind, enjoy true waterfront living with a private marina and a host of other waterfront amenities and facilities right at their ‘backyard’.
As Keppel Bay home owners, they are presented with complimentary membership to Marina at Keppel Bay for ten years as well as free subscription for five years. The twinning association with sister marina, Nongsa Bay Marina & Resort in Batam, Indonesia, also provides Keppel Bay homeowners an even wider spectrum of waterfront activities and privileges.
The Marina has also become the choice venue for international events such as the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race and more recently, Boat Asia, the largest boat show in South East Asia in April.
