Corporate Sailing Team Building Activities

Sailing is a true team activity; without teamwork on board a yacht, you literally go nowhere! It challenges limitations, builds trust and, most importantly, allows team members to recognise and understand their own and each others' strengths and abilities. Enhance your team's unity and performance through experiential learning on board the yachts and bond whilst enjoying an adventure on the high seas.

Half Day Programme (4 hours)
Join us on our most popular programme and embark on a journey of discovery with your team. Work together in a safe, new, exciting environment, learn the basics of sailing and, most of all, have fun! Typically our half day will be spent sailing or racing along the coast of Sentosa.

From $1,605 per yacht including GST
Up to 4 hours between 10am and 6pm

  Full Day Programme (8 hours)
Our full day session combines the sailing element of our half day programme together with additional land-based and/or water-based activities. Typically, we try to spend our day on and around one of Singapore's hidden treasures, Lazarus Island. Additionally, this programme includes a sandwich lunch on board the yacht or on the beach.

From $2,675 per yacht including GST
Up to 8 hours between 10am and 6pm

3-Day Programme

Sail across the Singapore Straits to Nongsa Point Marina and Resort in Batam, Indonesia. The tropical surroundings at Nongsa provide an excellent retreat, perfect for shorebased team building activities, a getaway team meeting or even as a reward to celebrate your team's excellent business performance. Expect fun- filled, activities on board and ashore. Additionally, this programme includes resort accommodation on a twin-sharing basis.

sail the seven Cs

At KBSA we've added our years of sailing experience, knowledge of the capabilities of our yachts together with our team building principles to develop our own Sail the Seven Cs programme. This forms the basis of our team building activities and is aimed at enabling teams to achieve their corporate goals through the sport of sailing.

The various roles on board a yacht can be likened to those in the workplace. These roles vary in complexity and physical demand. We will push your participants' boundaries and put them in different roles than the ones they are used to on a daily basis. This allows each individual to discover theirs and each other‘s unique character and strengths.

Sailing is a proven team sport as the yacht will only perform optimally with a good leader and a well-coordinated team. Individuals must display several qualities such as initiative, trust, integrity and the ability to work in sync.

Teams will learn the different methods of communication and adapt to the most suitable means for each situation. We will also build in differing levels and styles of communication here so that your participants will experience some of the communication issues they face on a daily basis, but in an unfamiliar environment. Holding debriefs after each sailing drill/race session help to improve the teams’ communication techniques.

At sea, one faces the volatility of the wind, tide, sea state and weather. In any company, external factors such as market trends, political events and even natural disasters, force the organisation to take measures. The ability to respond and adapt will aid in the company’s progress and the same applies to a sailing yacht. Switching the composition of the teams between sailing drills/race sessions will add a further layer of complexity and challenge too.
  Crisis Management
Anticipating potential problems before they surface will increase chances of success. During training, problems simulated will test the team’s creativity, resourcefulness, readiness and responsiveness.

Cheering sessions are held to debrief and encourage, as well as celebrate milestones, keeping the team motivated. This enables teams to focus on the big picture and provides constructive feedback while evaluating progress. We will hold a final debrief session over drinks towards the end of the programme.

Common Goal
The underlying objective of the entire programme is to unleash talent allowing leadership skills to surface whilst maintaining team cohesiveness, in order to arrive at their destination. Combined with the six Cs above, the essential qualities that enable a company to succeed will be developed.
